In 1857 the U.S. artist Frederic Edwin Church painted Niagara Falls.
For years International Plein Air Painters held the Annual WORLDWIDE Paint Out at the brink of the Falls hosted by Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York.
Artists attended from all over to paint in the Niagara Parks.
The land around the Falls on the Canadian side is meticulously maintained by Niagara Parks Commission
on the American side of the Falls is the State Park.
Niagara artist J.R. Baldini, has been painting Niagara Falls for close to two decades. Baldini is a Plein Air Artist or one who chooses to paint from life outdoors.
This often means painting in the fog, mist or frozen landscape of this beautiful peninsula.
And Baldini's hope is to transfer the immediacy of the fleeting light, the warmth or coolness of the day or the softness or brilliant color onto the viewer.

Like Monet's haystacks, it's about the light for me and the subject becomes secondary.
Niagara Falls, thought to be one of the Natural Wonders of the World, is undoubtedly one of the most Beautiful locations in the World. And certainly in the top 100, one of the best recognized locations.
People from all over the globe travel to this tiny part of the world. Niagara Falls is divided between the US and Canadian sides of the Niagara River.
